A semi-gantry crane is a special type of crane that combines the design of an overhead crane and a motorized gantry crane. One side of the semi-gantry bridge is supported by an overhead runway.
Generally speaking, the lifting capacity of the semi-gantry crane determines the type of crane beam: single girder, double girder and box girder. Single-girder semi-gantry cranes are designed to handle loads of about 20 tons, and double-girder semi-gantry cranes can be used to handle materials over 20 tons.
